Diversity

From its inception, the Biotechnology Training Program (BTP) has placed a high priority on the recruitment of high-quality scientists and trainees who are members of URM groups and individuals with disabilities. This commitment has yielded outstanding results throughout our 31 year history, with approximately 20% of graduated trainees (24 of 123) coming from URM groups.  Currently, of the 36 students still in training, 10 (or 28%) are members of URM groups.  Over the past 31 years, the BTP has successfully graduated 96% (24 of 25) of all enrolled trainees who were members of URM groups.
